Platte County Memorial Hospital
SM&RC provided structural engineering services Klump Brinkley Architecture for the Platte County Memorial Hospital additions and renovations project. The new structures included a new hospital power plant, surgery wing, and in patient unit.
1080 Cherokee Street, Office Building Renovation
SM&RC’s work for the project involved the development of structural designs, structural evaluation of the existing building and project coordination for renovation of the 1080 Cherokee Street Building. Renovations included construction of a 20 foot by 20 foot roof opening with clerestory, construction of two main floor 20 ft x 20 floor openings and one 20 foot by 8 foot opening. Work included evaluating the elimination of several bearing walls, installing steel framing for the installation of an ADA access elevator and several new steel access stairs between floors. The design involved installing new steel floor beam framing to support the existing concrete joist floor framing around the new openings.
Brightwater Development East and West Access Bridges
This project involved the structural engineering, and design for the project East and West Bridge structures. The East Bridge structure will be approximately 30 feet wide by 36 feet long and the West Bridge structure will be approximately 39 feet wide by 36 feet long. The structures spanned over CMP conduits and consisted of a concrete foundation substructure with wood decking and crash rails. The exposed exterior side walls of the bridge were veneered with a masonry rock surface. The design was for an HS 20-44 truck load.
