Black Hawk Dubois Street Retaining Wall Design
This project involved the structural redesign for the City of Black Hawk Dubois St. Widening Retaining Wall. The design was sensitive to settlement so as not impact adjacent historical structures. The retaining wall structure was approximately 300 foot long and supported the Dubois Street roadway and utilities. The design involved the installation of post tensioned rock anchors to stabilize the main concrete element of the wall. The wall was designed with a local rock veneer to match the local cliffs of the mountain town.
Brightwater Seattle, Micro Tunnel Entry Ring Project
SM&RC provided the steel design and detailing for the micro tunnel boring machine steel entry ring.
Barr Lake Emergency Spillway and Perimeter Dike Raise
Civil/Structural Engineer for the project which included the design of a 200 foot wide soil cement and concrete lined spillway. The project also included the design of approximately two miles of perimeter dike raise for the project. Barr Lake is a 5000 foot long, 50 foot high concrete faced embankment dam. Provided on-site observation services during placement of soil cement
The project consisted of stormwater drainage outlet structures, including a large energy dissipation structure into Sand Creek. SM&RC also designed several pedestrian bridges within the park as well. SM&RC's responsibilities included the design of all the structures along with construction support.
